How to get a prescription. 

If you think you may need a prescription medicine, please make an appointment with one of our doctors.  

You should take your prescription to the pharmacy located on the same floor as Crawley Health Centre or to a convenient local pharmacy of your choice where it can be dispensed. 

 

How to get a repeat prescription

Repeat prescriptions are only available for registered patients and are generally for those who have a long term condition requiring regular

medication. Your doctor will decide who needs repeat prescriptions.

From time to time we will ask you to see a doctor to monitor your illness and medication before re-issuing the next prescription.

Please allow at least 2 working days for us to deal with your repeat Prescription request. To make a request for a repeat prescription by hand either: Complete a Prescription request form available from the surgery and give it to us.

Deliver the retained part of your computerised Prescription to the surgery

Please include the following information when electronically sending a request:

  • Patient name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • Name of requested medication
  • Where you would like to pick it up from (It is possible to avoid a further visit to the surgery by collecting your completed prescription direct from a local chemist)

Please note we do not accept Prescription requests over the telephone and if you request medication that has not been given to you on a regular basis, the Doctor may need to see you

 

For Walk in Patients - repeat medication will only be given if essential to your health and only enough will be given to last until your own GP is open (up to a maximum of seven days) unless Contraceptive/HRT when one month may be prescribed or if there are exceptional circumstances.

We reserve the right to refuse to give any repeat medication.
