Crawley MP praises new health centre as a ‘real asset’ for the town
The new Crawley Health Centre was officially opened on Friday (18 June 2010) by Crawley MP Henry Smith.
The new centre, which is based at 14 Haslett Avenue between County Mall Shopping Centre and The Broadway, can be used by registered and non registered patients, making it easy for everyone to get quick access to healthcare.
It is open every day of the year from 8am to 8pm, including weekends and bank holidays, and offers a range of services from regular GP appointments, treatment for minor illnesses and health information.
Following a tour of the new centre and all its facilities, Henry Smith MP for Crawley, met with local health professionals and carried out the official opening.
He said: “I would like to pay tribute to everyone for having the vision and determination to open this fabulous centre.
“Making health care more convenient for Crawley residents and people visiting the area can only be good to improve the prospects for people’s health.
“It is a first class modern facility that is a real asset to the Crawley area.”
The centre is managed by Health4Crawley, a consortium formed of ten local Crawley GP practices. It was commissioned by NHS West Sussex, which has worked with Health4Crawley to develop the plans and the new premises in the town centre.
